The New Zealander and American both cleared 2.36m and could have shared gold, but somehow didn't agree to it. In the end, after a few tie-breakers, New Zealand got the gold, and the US missed out.

Which one of them refused to share?
Shelby McEwen refused to share while NZ really want to share by even intentionally failing on the final attempt. It backfires him. Now I hope there is some chance it backfires on the whole US.

China (currently 38) has

High chance:
1 in weightlifting
Possible:
~1 in boxing (75kg) >> starting soon

Estimated final golds: ~39 or 40

US (currently 37) has:

High chance:
2 in basketball
Possible:
~1 in women's volleyball
~1 in women's wrestling 76kg
~1 in women's omnium

To top medal tally:
If China wins boxing, US must win 2 or less events out of 5
If China loses boxing, US must win 1 or less events out of 5

Considering Nasar lifted 404kg, Liu's 406kg is quite modest, he should be at least 420kg
No, it's quite a difference. Liu beat him in the snatch by 6kg. In the clean and jerk, Nassar made his ultimate lift at 224 and Liu made 228 but was DQ'd because of an elbow wobble (a decision I agree with although the rule itself is stupid). Then, he attempted 233 and almost had it. So... it's not as close as it looks because 404 is Nassar's biggest day in history but 406 is Liu narrowly missing a lift that would have jumped him by 13kg. Also, where did you get 420? You can't just come in and say someone should break the WR by at least 7kg LOL. Liu owns it at 413.
Damn. Unless the female table tennis team and Li WenWen completely mess up, China is set to have 38 golds MINIMUM which is the same as Tokyo. If Boxing gets gold thats 39.
It's actually 39-40 depending on the boxing. 40 would be historic; we never achieved this outside of China before. Actually, that's true for 39 too but you know, 40's a round number.
Is it just me or does Miwa Harimoto look really Japanese? I've noticed that a lot of people from central China (Sichuan, Jiangnan) look similar to Japanese people.
Looks like she did reverse teeth bracing to fuck them up to look Japanese LOL. I don't know if they're actually fucked up but looking at the odd shape of her face and smile, it looks like the teeth are uneven, which is a common Japanese trait.

How does sharing work? Do they both get a gold medal or is it somehow counted as half on the board?
