Wait a min. Didn't the Paris mayor jumped into the river to prove it's safe lol
yea the 100m is not Zhang Yufei's specialty. the 200m is. Shes built more for endurance than sprint.
Yeah that's her stronger event but Zhang got power too, I watched her pre Olympics documentary, it was suggested she adjusted her training abit and tried new things I suspect specially for this race . I listened to her post race interview. She had a tinge of regret. I think the fact she came so close in Tokyo also factored in her mind.

Just realized she is 26 yr old already. The gold and silver medalist are both 21 yr old only. They had the youth advantage

Its almost time to watch the showdown in 100m breaststroke between the most bad ass looking swimmer in town and world champion King Qin vs the WR holder and OG gold medalist, Peaty.

Congratulations to Zhang Yufei. Bronze in women's 100n butterfly.

He ended up 7th

Seems like the American dirty tricks (fake doping accusations) are really taking a toll on the Chinese swimmers

Yeah this totally came out of left field. Even the cctv commentator went silent for a long while. Qin was super dominant during the world championships. Many expected a silver or bronze at worst. Dun know wat the feck happenef? Did he go too hard in the front end?

He did well in prelims (second fastest), so he is still capable of high speeds. The gold medal today is slower than his prelim speed. Just an off day today I guess. It's ok guys, China does not rely on swimming and track and field for medals. Last Olympics China only got 3 swimming golds and still ended up in second place. Only one gold less than the US.
