Then if China flop all boxing and weightlifting (unlikely but can happen given how Shi flopped so hard last night) and other non-dominating sports like hockey and golf then China may not meet the 34 gold kpi. Wonder what will happen.

kpi here means Key Performance Indicator ? is it the target for Chinese Olympic team to get 34 Gold ?

Yes, i read in Chinese media that the Chinese olympic comittee set the gold at 34, did not mention the ranking but we are guaranteed top 3 anyway (top 2 if the Rio 2016 dissaster did not happened)

Late to the party but I saw Pakistan beat India in Javelin throw. It's so poetic it almost seems unreal. After Nadeem threw the best one of his career, Neeraj couldn't handle it and just choked.

Pakistan sent like 7 athletes. India sent over 100. Pakistan has one gold. India has zero

To you Jai Hinds lurking here, maybe you should start learning to be humble. You guys keep saying you're genetically the same as China but it turns out you're not even up to Pakistan's standards now. Stay in your lane and know your place.
