They got womens discus silver medal.
Silver was really the best result possible and we got that by tying the Croat but throwing it earlier. The American deserved it way too much. Every one of her throws, as long as they were in bound, was a gold medal throw. She never threw lower than 68m and our Silver medalist's best throw was 67.51m. In the end, we lost to her by 2 whole meters. No way to complain about that; that Silver feels just fine.

I hope Meng Lingzhe wins the bronze medal, it's rare to see an East Asian wrestler in the heavyweight class.
I knew it was too good to be true. It was just too hard to ask him to pass the semifinals. Just can't have nice things. I feel really bummed out about this even though this one will lead to no golds. Would gladly sacrifice a gold from Cao Liguo for him to fight Lopez

Update on gold prospects remaining

High chance
2 in table tennis
4 in diving
2 in synchro swimming
5-6 in weightlifting

Currently at 21
Estimated final golds (based on these sports only) are 34-35

Not including sports I'm unsure of like athletics, boxing, wrestling, sailing, canoeing, volleyball and other team sports where quite a few more could also come. Women's team sprint in cycling unfortunately had a false start and destroyed their chances at gold

US has (possibly) another ~5 in athletics, 2 in basketball, 1 in golf, 2 in volleyball and beach volleyball, 1 in women's water polo and ~2-3 in wrestling for a total of ~33-34
This could be close

The dude lost 1 to 1 on a tiebreaker. Chill out; he did great. Besides, getting a bronze in that class, if he can, is really no different from a silver.

Why would you sacrifice an actual gold just to touch gloves with a Cuban? Just because the guys are bigger? What's the logic, you worship him? Team China doesn't; we want our gold. Cao Liguo's success isn't worth any more or less just because he's smaller than Meng.

You know something? China's gymnastics performance this time could be considered a disaster. We lost the men's team, men's individual, the men's high bar (Zhang's scores on the team and individual were both good enough for gold but he choked when it was the high bar comp) and the women's trampoline. That's 4 golds we lost that she should have had based on ability but lost due to bad luck, not to mention that the ladies uneven bars and balance beam we qualified top 1 but ended up silver. So we potentially had 8 gold, but ended up with 2: Rings and Horizontal bars.

The US, on the other hand, is over the moon with thier girls and they are considered a real success. What did they get? 3 gold medals. Just 1 over us. I guess it comes to show that a starving camel is still (almost) heavier than a horse. I'm proud of our gynmnastics team; they're the best and I know they'll learn so much from this.

Unfortunately size does matter. People know who Yao Ming is. Who Zhang Zhilei is. Do people know whou Zou Shiming is despite being far more accomplished in his field compared to the other two?

Getting at least a silver in Greco Roman in the heaviest weight class of Olympics is unheard of for an East Asian and once against blows a hole in the small asian stereotype.

I still will be quite happy with Bronze though. But what guarantees are there. Last Olympics Deng Zhiwei was in this position and he got nothing in the end.
