Trump never should have done this, because what he did was political, a completely Fascist move trying to force a sale of a company.
Now the offer is TikTok probably stays in charge, take on American partners, which they already had. This corporate restructuring, was not for business reasons, just pure political reasons.
Do not play politics with the Chinese. Look at Taiwan. They been playing politics with the Chinese for 40 years now. One side is always losing.
In fact, this restructuring could bring in more expertise from the new partners to make TikTok even powerful.
Let's not talk about who owns TikTok if this deal happens.

The government was coming after it, and competitors were coming after it with copy cat apps, like Reels and Shorts, forget who was doing these apps but they were the internet giants.
Ideally, TikTok wants to stay in America and kill off these would be competitors, because you do not want one competing with you globally.
Currently, I would think TikTok has the monopoly on dancing ferrets. You want to keep that advantage. Bust a move.

Look at what Huawei is doing, it was going into full conglomerate mode, trying to make everything.
Look how powerful the Google and Apple and Facebook is. They want to do everything too. Look at Amazon with their cloud services.
Wouldn't we expect someone like Oracle to be in the cloud services business big time? If they are, they probably not doing it big time like Amazon is.

This may be too complicated for some members of the Trump administration.

Apparently this sale, is more of a licensing agreement.
Not even sure who pays who licensing fees. It could be reciprocal.
If the deal happens the way TikTok wants it to happen ... they preserve their monopoly and has a chance to kill off American competition in the same app space.
Why not think of what TikTok wants to do, instead of always taking the lead from what the Americans are going to do.
The IRS can only collect TikTok taxes if they make TikTok money in America.
That is what this is all about, outside of the Trump administration.
