Huawei continued to look STUPID
Last week huawei paid qualcomm $1.8 billion to settle their differences hoping qualcomm will sell its chips due to Kirin processors not able to be manufactured by TSMC

Huawei thought US government only wants to stop hisilicon. Wrong. US government wants huawei to die.

Today US government announced no companies can sell chips to huawei using US equipments for manufacturing. Thats means No qualcomm , No Mediatek for Huawei. Huawei immediate plan got destroyed and look Stupid by paying that $1.8billion. That money better used for R&D and second hand equipments. But its in their DNA for instant gratification by using others ready to use components. It was hoping US government would allow it. Not a chance. Its amazing huawei still harboring this type of get lucky type of mentality. Ita really Stupid

First of all you dont know history and dont know what you talking about. Yet you just jump into argument with no basis whatsoever.
First of all, you don't know logic and have already 2-3 demonstrably incorrect statements so the person who knows least about what he is talking about is obviously you. This argument does not even depend on what China was capable of in the 1950's; that is a side-note of whether there was a mistake made 50-60 years ago. You said that China was high on its 5G, maglev, AI achievements, which caused the current deficit with the global leader in semiconductor/lithography tech and then connected that to things in 50-60 years ago? LOL What are you even talking about? It's trivia that you mentioned that China was in the lead 50 years ago so I wanted to know if that was true with any evidence; it is not important at all to the current discussion but you've turned it into the main debate because you lose every point and have a strategy of shifting around to try to stop yourself from losing face.

I clearly said China was self sufficient at the the time late1950s had its own equipments making IC.
What you said and what you showed are different. Besides, being self-sufficient at producing some level of chip is not the same as being self-sufficient at producing globally-competitive high end chips, which is the contention today.

It had early lead over many countries.
Ohhhh... you move the goalpost again. What does many countries mean? That doesn't mean world-leading. China has the lead over "many" countries today.

Its common knowledge that earth is round so is China wasnt able buy anything from the west at the time, let alone equipment.
First of all, I'm amazed that you drew the conclusion on what China could buy based on the shape of the earth. Secondly, nobody is arguing with you that China had always been locked out of buying the best foreign equipment. You are trying to create an argument that nobody is having with you to look like you made valid points.

Yet you keep crying like a child: shown me proof China has own lithography equipment at the time?
You keep crying like a baby (or should I say, rotten old cabbage for your familiarity), "Believe me without proof otherwise you have to disprove me!" LOL I never asked you to prove something so simple. I asked you to prove your assertions that China was self-sufficient at the highest level in the world. Of course, if you cannot prove it, your assertion cannot be taken; it is automatic logic.
You dont know what you talking about. Who told you during that time IC was produced using photolithograph technique??
You have confused me with someone else; I have never said anything about photolithograph being used back then.
If you dont know anything just keep quiet!
This is coming from the person who doesn't know that focused lasers have the potential and ability for mass production and that companies can actually have employees constantly monitor their systems yet confidently asserted the impossibility of both. Rich
You have no basis for counter argument except childlike crying " show me proof or else my argument is valid and yours is not"
I don't have an argument on China's IC history. I just said you need to show proof for your assertions, which is the most mature request in a debate. You have a great misunderstanding of how logic works. Reminds me of Tidalwave... and that's interesting for someone who claims to be Ukrainian yet posts in Chinese, isn't it? LOL
Judging by combatative argument i thought you might know something i could learn but i was disappointed.
Well, then it seems you are incapable of learning despite being taught, which is par for the course for someone with such a poor grasp of logic and proof. I taught you what was written in bold. Try to learn again.
You jump into argument without any knowledge.
That would be you; reread bold part.

Apparently, the $1.8B includes licensing of new technology to Huawei. Don't know if the move was smart but it's smarter than you; that's for sure.

Obviously you have English reading and interpretation issue.
Its mainly for old patent dispute. US forbids qualcomm selling chips to huawei can you explain to everybody how huawei go about licensing qualcomm new technology? Lmao

Oh, I have a reading comprehension issue, eh? What does this say, tidalwave?

" HUAWEI Technologies has agreed to pay Qualcomm Inc US$1.8 billion to settle a patent dispute and obtain new technology licensing, US-based chip designer Qualcomm said yesterday. "

If that is the case, then why ASML service revenue is ten times its equipment sales. And why Fujian Jinhua was forced to completely shut down after equipment companies pull their support. Please face the facts.
Jinhua is brand new it doesnt have the experienced engineers like others.

Sanctioned companies with experienced engineers can run those equipment without services and updates.

Ok and your an expert on IP, semiconductors, sanctions, and geopolitics? Curb your importantance.

Xi would have retaliated if it didn't look like Trump is about to lose the election in an landslide. What comes after is more important. Bidens campaign is reaping in mass amounts of dark money from Chip company lobbies. Trust me, this sanction lifted soon enough.

Don't worry about it; it's for the other members. There are so many things you really need to be informed on that pretend ignorance doesn't even make the list.

So it's not my reading problem, is it? That's what it says in English? LOL

The US opens many exceptions for business. If Huawei paid for it, they got it; if it was banned, they would not have been allowed to pay for it. And even if they paid for nothing, they've still achieve far more than you could in all your previous and present lifetimes added together. The stupid one is still, and will always be, you.

No a country on this earth would use focused laser for making chips on mass volume. Not before not after. Not ever.
