Recently, some Beijing university students have built Lego microscopes for less than 3,000 yuan, which has attracted lively discussions among many "big guys" in academia among friends. raft. It is understood that the microscope was built by three third-year students Yu Xiongwu, Wang Letong and Zhao Qiyuan, who majored in biomedical engineering at Peking University's School of Engineering. As the light plate scans the zebrafish body layer by layer, the outline structures of the head, eyes and spine can be clearly presented on the computer screen.62ec2493ly1h7swgcejxkj20sg1bwjy1.jpg

China’s display market share is expected to rise to 43% this year from 41.5% in 2021. Korean companies logged a market share of 33.2% in 2021, losing the No. 1 position they have maintained for 17 years since 2004 to Chinese manufacturers, reported Business Korea on November 3.

In the LCD market, China's market share reached 50.9% in 2021, while South Korea posted a mere 14.4%. As profitability deteriorated due to a price war waged by Chinese companies, Samsung Display decided to suspend LCD production in the second quarter of this year. LG Display implemented an LCD exit strategy ahead of schedule after recording a loss for two consecutive quarters.

China is also in hot pursuit of South Korea in the OLED sector. While South Korea’s OLED market share fell from 98.1% in 2016 to 82.8% in 2021, China rose from 1.1% to 16.6% during the same period, said the Business Korea report.

The report said that the Chinese government has continued to support its display industry greatly, while the Korean government started to support the display industry belatedly.

China's rise in high tech is the big loss of Korea/Japanese industries. LOOL

Yes, and that is why I expect these countries to initially get on board with US sanctions - like the US, they see China's rise as a threat to their dominance in various industries. They'd like nothing better than to knock China down and make it dependent on them.

Japan and South Korea are often described as being more practical than the US; yes, they are practical, which is precisely why they see the coming conflict of interest.

China can mitigate against this by offering to divide the market share with them. But I don't think there will be any mood to do so if Japan and South Korea get on board with US sanctions.

Ban Chinese display (LCD and OLED) as it has a tiny chip that monitoring you 24/7 and send the data to "evil" CCP ;)

Chinese Researchers Develop 3D Printed Lithium Metal Battery with High Energy Density

Chinese researchers have recently developed a new type of lithium metal battery with 3D printing technology, significantly improving the battery's lifespan and energy density.
Lithium metal battery is expected to be the next-generation high-energy battery for its potential high energy density. But the bottlenecks, such as lithium dendrite growth and low Coulombic efficiency, resulting in poor cyclability and low energy density, have limited its applications.
The researchers from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences use 3D printing technology to make titanium carbide-based scaffolds for lithium metal to deposit as the cathode, which achieves an outstanding areal capacity of 30 milliampere hour per square centimeter and a cycle lifespan of over 4,800 hours without producing lithium dendrite.
The 3D printed anode was made by porous lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) lattices with mass loading reaching 171 mg per square centimeter, effectively improving the electrochemical performance of the battery.
This technical route offers a viable strategy for developing batteries with long lifespans and high energy density, according to the study.
