Progress of Alibaba cloud and its Yitian-710 server chip:
The Yitian-710 is the currently fastest sever CPU in the world.
I guess they will offer the Panjiu servers equipped with Yitian-710 widely this month. I actually see ECS clusters using Yitian-710 on Alibaba cloud product listings but that might just be for select customers.

From earnings call on Alibaba cloud
For Q1 2022, Alibaba cloud has risen to 40% of China's market share (from 36.7% in 2021). It has also really expanded internationally. In 3 years, it has 10x in size. It has increased market share every year since 2017. Alibaba cloud is a major part of China's digital BRI effort in ASEAN countries imo.
From March to May, Alibaba cloud built new data centers in Thailand, Seoul and Germany. This was followed by an agreement with Thailand's Telecom to provide cloud services. In July, they built a customer center in Porto, Portugal. They have mostly completed a service network across Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
In June, Alibaba cloud launched CIPU to challenge AWS
In August, it worked with XPeng to build a large self driving AI data center with 600 PFLOPS calculation.
Alibaba has set up AI data center for quite a few corporations with their Feitian smart platform. Including XPeng, DP Technology, SAIC, China Meterological Admin and southern power grid.
They are big in many Asian countries. Back in June of 2021, they launched the project AsiaForward program where they pledged $1 billion to nurture 100,000 developers and tech startups in 3 years
They also made KL the home of their global hub in southeast asia. As someone who keeps getting Lazada emails, I'd say they are doing pretty well in their e-commerce presence in Malaysia
Alibaba cloud also is trying to build its local presence there with more programs like Digital Heroes
Now, Lazada wants to make its foray into Europe. It currently operates in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
I will look at the international presence of other Chinese big tech/cloud service providers next time.

it supports more type of CPU than any other cloud service. Including the latest Yitian-710 CPU. Yitian-710 is already widely deployed in Alibaba cloud's internal data center and supported 2021's double 11 core project. Yitian-710 started to allow testing in public cloud ECS in April.
