Only very brief since we are ´slightly´off topic :eek:ff:

Bill's chinese dealings are water under the bridge not likely winning the Republican's any votes ten years after and of course the Democrat's (including Hillary) are currently only talking tough about China but will inevitably succumb after the election to simple economic and strategic facts.:D

Do you live in the US? It's still an issue. Believe me it's talked by radio talk shows and the anti-China faction in the US to this day. We are getting off topic so that's the end for me.

Its been reported that the range of the radar is about 160km.

is he 160km range a max. range? consider this, F-15A APG-65 with her bigger antenna has max. range of 185km (10m. rcs.) if J-10 with her smaller antenna could obtain that range, there's possibility that it may be AESA as some been suggest.

RCS? JDW and other aviation magazine already adapted 1 meter RCS as a standard detection range.
the 160km range may refering to 5 meter target.
it was reported as 150 km detection range by this chief avionics dude for J-10 project and the range is normally given for 3 sqm target when it comes to China. That's pretty good if you consider the range of Zhuk-ME and even Zhuk-MSE

I don't think the J-10 is using an AESA or PESA radar at the moment, most likely a slotted planar array. I don't have any evidence though.

It has a slotted planar array. I remember there was a photo or video capture that had a chance shot of a J-10 without its radome in the background. The KLJ-3 or Type 1473 allegedly for the J-10 is supposed to be a slotted array due to its only photo seen in the nose of the Y-8 testbed. But we do know that as for now, all the KLJ family series used in all new PLAAF fighters from the J-8F to the J-11B plus the JF-17 are all slotted array planar at the moment.
