They will eventually have to make a decision to get rid of them or let them be taken over by more competitive private car companies like BYD, Geely, Chery etc else they will be too late and bankrupt by the time they are left with no choice. So a collapse is likely if they things continue the way they are which is likely.. To be honest the state owned car companies are actually an deadweight for China's more competitive private EV companies. They should leave the market for those companies. It will happen either way with time, either the good way or hard way.
