Guoxuan High-tech's all-solid-state battery is installed on a vehicle for road testing!

Guoxuan High-tech's first all-solid-state experimental line has been officially put into operation. The line is 100% independently developed, with a designed production capacity of 0.2GWh. Through key technologies such as high-precision coating, it has achieved a yield rate of up to 90%. After 365 days of extreme verification, the capacity of Jinshi's all-solid-state battery cells has increased by 150%, and the preload force has decreased by 90%. It is not afraid of harsh tests such as needle puncture, hot box, external short, overcharge, and extrusion, and its safety performance has been improved in all aspects.

Guoxuan High-tech has started developing semi-solid-state battery technology since 2017, and released its first semi-solid-state battery in 2022. In May 2024, it released the Jinshi all-solid-state battery-sulfide all-solid-state battery, and passed the 200-degree hot box test at one time, which is higher than the national standard of 130 degrees. The positive electrode of Jinshi's all-solid-state battery uses an ultra-thin film to coat a single crystal positive electrode. Through the ultra-thin film coating, the single crystal positive electrode can exhibit higher energy density, better cycle stability and higher safety. The negative electrode uses a three-dimensional mesoporous silicon negative electrode. This material has a high specific surface area and good dispersibility, which can increase the contact area with the electrolyte and improve the energy density of the battery; the three-dimensional spatial structure can provide a buffer layer for the volume expansion of silicon, thereby improving the cycle stability of the battery. This all-solid-state battery cell system can be cycled more than 3,000 times, which can easily achieve a million kilometers of mileage in the entire life cycle of electric vehicles. Sulfide solid electrolyte is used , which is a self-developed ordered network (sulfur germanium argyrodite type) and random copolymer (glass ceramic state) solid electrolyte, and through micro-nano processing, the size of the electrolyte is further reduced to the submicron level to form a micro-nano solid electrolyte.

Guoxuan High-tech also released the G Yuan quasi-solid-state battery for the first time. The energy density of this battery is 300Wh/kg, which pushes the range of pure electric cars to 1,000 kilometers. At the same time, the G Yuan quasi-solid-state battery puts on a "nano-level bulletproof vest" for the battery. Even if punctured by a 3mm steel needle, it still maintains absolute safety of "no fire and no explosion". It also has an original adaptive solid-solid interface technology to build a high-speed channel for ion transmission, ensuring stable and efficient operation of the battery throughout its life cycle.

BYD surpasses Tesla in BEV registrations in Europe for 1st time

"This is a watershed moment for Europe's car market, particularly when you consider that Tesla has led the European BEV market for years, while BYD only officially began operations beyond Norway and the Netherlands in late 2022," Munoz said.

BYD's growth rate in Europe is even higher if plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models are counted.

BYD, with its extensive and competitive lineup of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, saw sales increase 359 percent over the same period, Jato said.

BYD's rapid expansion has allowed it to overtake established European auto brands, the report noted.

Notably, BYD has overtaken Tesla in the global BEV market last quarter.

, BYD was No. 1 with a 15.4 percent share, while Tesla was No. 2 with 12.6 percent, TrendForce, another market research firm, said in a report yesterday.

I must admit, the seagull pricing in germany is a bit uncompetetive, most of the budget buyers in germany re quite cash strapped due to 3 years recession in a row and 20k is not a competitive pricing.

Byd is severely overestimating the purchasing power of the germany lower middle class (everyone above middle class wouldn't buy a seagull style car most likely).

I know the EU is enforcing a minimum price policy for chinese EVs, but for 20k the could have used more premium features into the european seagull.

Time will tell how the hungarian factory will play into it

^^^Xiaomi's second model, the YU7 SUV, looks good.

I don't understand why BYD insists to make a Europe-specific Seagull/Dolphin Surf, which may be one of the major reasons why it's much more expensive than the Chinese version. They should have invested more in the Chinese version of Seagull, making sure that it will meet world-wide safety regulations, like the Nio Firefly, which has 9 airbags to begin with. In my opinion, BYD is making the same mistake as BYD Dolphin, which has different versions for the western and Chinese markets. The western versions of Dolphin Surf and Dolphin have slightly longer front overhangs and are supposed to perform better in safety tests. BYD thinks they are cleaver. But the Dolphin has been selling below expectations in China consistently as far as I know.

Interesting that the US still hasn't banned her AI chips from China's autoindustry. Given that they have been complain about China's autoindustry "subsidies and unfair market competition ". I think its probably just a matter of time.
