China to impose anti-dumping measures on EU brandy

Chinese customs officials will collect security deposits from companies that sell brandy originated from the bloc beginning this Friday.

The move came days after the European Union pressed ahead in adopting definitive tariffs of up to 45% on China-made battery electric vehicles last Friday.

That being said, all expansion/construction is halted, which means the company is pretty much dead in the water.

Even the coldest of cold warriors need to accept that China is the undisputed heavyweight champion of EVs.

For any of their scenarios to work, they first need to actually have good EV sales that are showing robust increase in sales in the US, which is not the case so far, and less likely if Trump is elected.

Economies of scale. If you are producing EVs at scale and in an affordable manner, would you bank on the US which has show lackluster EV sales increase?

And they put north american as an island. But Mexico may be more open to having Chinese EVs. So it's just Canada and US as an island in the future, depending on what the EU does.

The US lives in interesting times.

Scenario 3 seems most likely as it is hard to imagine US-aligned countries in RCEP will join the US. Eventually this will lead to the demise of GM and Ford much like the US steel industry today.
