I think China started some kind of gas-guzzler taxes on large engine ICE cars many years ago. That is one of the reasons on model-to-model trim-to-trim comparisons, BBA cars in China most likely have smaller power trains than those in US.China should just slap a 100% tariff on high horsepower imported ICE cars.

Eventually, in a few (<6) years, both EU and US will have to accommodate imported EV form China on some twisted business arrangements. The only exception to this eventuality is that China would ultimately lose the semiconductor battle, e.g., failing to produce commercially viable 5nm logic chips in 3~5 years.
