BYD has recently put BAS 3.0+ ADAS system on Z9GT and it will be the first to get this system as well as having mapless nationwide City NOA before end of the year. So, pretty big deal. But beyond that, it's making huge investment in ADAS. 5000 people ADAS team, including 1000 in the core also team. It's looking to bring ADAS to 100k RMB models.

What's interesting to me is that Chinese people are not averse to foreign brands (unlike Japanese people). They were fine with buying foreign cars in the ICE era. The reason why foreign firms are declining now is simply that their offer isn't competitive.

But will the West draw the right conclusions and up their game or will they create another fake narrative about "China hostile to Western biz"? I suspect it will be the latter.

this is the part I don't understand. I've been posting this every month for months now. Why is this now suddenly a big deal just because someone in Bloomberg caught on?
