Not sure. We are getting this information third hand. I think it is all vehicles not just EVs. AITO has ICE models, right?
Yes, from the article the car in question are hybrid.

You probably missed “car brand” in my previous post.
Well, my question was more about if the regulation is limited to a specific sector (car or ev), not a general rule because total outsourcing production is a common practice, such as chip and fashion designers own the brands but someone else make them, apple is one example.

Yeah it must be specifically targeting car manufacturing because Yu said:
国内可能有房地产商和其他的都来搞汽车,然后就严格限制了

A bit of sharing here. I test drive the BYD Atto 3 and SEAL. Almost bought the SEAL but hold back upon finding out the lowest ground clearance is only at 14cm. I have concern over the battery pack hitting manhole covers and also the bumpy road condition here, even my SX4 with 18cm gc get its bottom cover rekted multiple times.

The price, after EV incentives, stands at 46.7k USD. Pricey ?? Pretty sure not affordable for the mass yet. Wuling's AIR, Cloud and Pingguo EV are way cheaper but will not go for another Wuling after getting Baojun 530. Hear Neta is coming in with some really cheap model soon. And DFSK is bringing in M7, M9 next year.

I feel there is still that it of a lack in interior details, even for the SEAL, when compared to Japanese and German makers. E.g. the screen, though big, feels awkwardly out of place. the steering wheel looks kind of bland? Oh and the ugly gear stick...cant they just use a normal looking stick instead of this weird short glassy thing..

Atto3...too futuristic-looking interior, overall driving experience is quite lagging.
I think the Atto 3 is classified as sub-compact crossover and the Seal is considered a mid-size sedan by American standard (correct me if I'm wrong). Both of these vehicles won't fit my needs. I like big vehicles and not low ground clearance sedan. Though the Seal is a very interesting sedan, it's not my taste.

I'm not sure 46.7K is price of which vehicle you mentioned; however, Atto 3 costs around 35K in my country and Seal is not available here. Interestingly, we've got the Seagull at 10+K, Dolphin at 20+K, Atto3 at 30+K and Sealion 6 (Song Plus in some area) at 40+K. Tang EV is quoted at around 65K.

You consider the glass electric gear lever ugly? I think you should check the toy-like plastic electric gear lever of the Ford Everest. It is illogical (too many gear positions), electric but moving very hard even worse than a mechanical one.

BYD to launch in Vietnam on the 18th

interview with Ocean series head and his comments on mass deployment of ADAS, fridge, TV and sofa

Looks like BYD has a little problem launching in Vietnam:
1. The largest dealer (forget the name) who has branches spreading across the country withdraw from the deal.
2. BYD is not going to build charging stations while VinFat is not going to share its charging stations in a foreseeable future.
3. Vietnamese has prejudice against Chinese vehicles.
4. The naming of BYD has some bad meaning in Vietnamese especially the dynasty series; Tang means funeral while other dynasties had invaded Vietnam in the past.

Pretty much spot on. Chinese car is no. Dynasty series is big no no. Whoever consulting BYD for bring Dynasty series to Vietnam should be fired IMHO.

Song should be fine. It was so pathetic that Vietnam invaded it.
