A bit of sharing here. I test drive the BYD Atto 3 and SEAL. Almost bought the SEAL but hold back upon finding out the lowest ground clearance is only at 14cm. I have concern over the battery pack hitting manhole covers and also the bumpy road condition here, even my SX4 with 18cm gc get its bottom cover rekted multiple times.

The price, after EV incentives, stands at 46.7k USD. Pricey ?? Pretty sure not affordable for the mass yet. Wuling's AIR, Cloud and Pingguo EV are way cheaper but will not go for another Wuling after getting Baojun 530. Hear Neta is coming in with some really cheap model soon. And DFSK is bringing in M7, M9 next year.

I feel there is still that it of a lack in interior details, even for the SEAL, when compared to Japanese and German makers. E.g. the screen, though big, feels awkwardly out of place. the steering wheel looks kind of bland? Oh and the ugly gear stick...cant they just use a normal looking stick instead of this weird short glassy thing..

Atto3...too futuristic-looking interior, overall driving experience is quite lagging.

In some cases when companies do that it deters people from buying their cars. They will just wait to see if the price goes down further.
That's the reason why deflation is not good for the economy and moderate inflation is more preferable.

Chinese media reports that SAIC is negotiating with Spain’s Ministry of Industry to build a factory in the country to produce MG cars. Reports claim that SAIC Motors will make a decision by September 30. Other countries still in the running include Hungary and the Czech Republic, which have lower labor costs.

In the first half of 2024, Chery, Geely, and Changan did well. In comparison, none of the joint ventures did well except the ones with VW.

Geome Xingyuan is a new compact car from Geely. Xingyuan is a temporary name probably.

One of the best selling luxury SUVs in China, the Huaiwei/Seres' Aito M9, is very safe.

I wonder if we're ever gonna see a Chinese budget brand like Toyota's Daihatsu or Renault's Dacia dedicated to selling cars in the 40k - 100k RMB range. It's sad to me that there isn't a viable 40k-50k A segment hatchback as that's my favorite style of car

Current budget offerings in China are either nameless crap brands or not that budget at all (like how Wuling isn't even that much cheaper than BYD)

If anybody could do it it would probably be BYD since it would be able to use last generation in house BYD tech
