Oh god please no.

I used to respect Changan because they stuck to a very focused branding and logo, just like Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Ford

Now they're straying away and becoming no different from SAIC and Dongfeng, known for making a million crappy offshoot brands that inevitably fail in a few years. Basically 原地踏步

Just let Hiphi die or get taken over by some other crappy company like Dongfeng or BAIC

What's your opinion on Geely? They also have a bunch of brands (Geely, Geometry, Zeekr, Volvo, etc.) but they seem to be doing quite well.

The day of reckoning is coming. There are many reasons for its being between China EVs and US SUVs. Some are structural. Others may be cultural. This China-vs-US auto drama will eventually be less dramatic yet more fundamental than the last Japan-vs-US auto drama circa 1980s and 1990s.

Yeah, exactly. Could not agree more.

As of today, I think China auto industry will decisively win over America auto industry. I could change my mind in the future, but as of today, this is definitely the case in my mind.

The simple reason is that out of 10 Americans, 9 of them would not know who has the biggest auto market in the world, which is China, and GM sells more cars in China than America. (Note this last part is changing because GM getting beat in the China market.)

Then, when someone like Ford Co. wants to setup a partnership for Chinese batteries, the US government gets involved trying to negate that deal.

Good luck!

They will need it!

Geely is the one who started the Chinese ICE invasion here in the Philippine, they're the one who introduced an affordable not cheap European style vehicle, putting the Japanese and SK car manufacturer to shame. BUT lately they had become bland with competition from different Chinese automakers like GAC, Changan, MG, Chery and Jetour a Chery subsidiary making a dent to their sales.

Most Americans have not even heard of BYD, the leader in EV technology. The thing is that GAC should sell more of their gasoline cars worldwide, as their gasoline cars are very competitive.

Yes especially their sport sedan Empow, SUV Emzoom ,M8 MPV and my favorite GS8 SUV (top on my shopping list) , I had test driven their Empow GE sport sedan and I can tell you the drive performance is way better than Honda Civic Type R even though it was only equip with 1.5 turbo engine plus it's very affordable way way affordable than the Honda.

byd han to get a major upgrade in smart car features when 2024 version gets unveiled

Italy govt is asking BYD to come and set up shop

Or BYD could choose one of the several European countries that have not recently withdrawn from BRI, such as Hungary (tick), Portugal or Greece...

Or possibly Spain instead of Italy. Spaniards seems to have a more favorable view of China and the government is less antagonistic.
