International consumers need to know it is Chinese technology, since it is all about brand and image building of Chinese EV brands and in fact this will help all other Chinese brands soft power worldwide.

It is unreasonable to have more of these type of deals, so that foreign laggards are allowed to restrict the growth if Chinese EV brands outside of China. This deal basically allows Stellantis to resell Chinese EV technology not only in Europe, but worldwide, outside of China.
Leapmotor is a tiny company with very little capital.

How do you expect Leapmotor to build their international business? Magic? Free money from the Chinese government? They took the deal they were given, it was a good deal to them.

Stellantis has an established stable of brands worldwide, fighting them is going to be a lot more difficult.

Besides BYD, the most successful Chinese EV exporters are SAIC and Geely, should Europeans complain that they bought MG and Volvo to grow their companies outside China? Most people in the UK know that MG is owned by a Chinese company already.
