To give you an idea how impressed I am, I once owned an Audi A6 3T Quattro (C6 type) for 9 years. If I was given a choice today, I would choose Luxeed S7 in a second, plus some decent savings in the pocket.

The problem for all ICE car companies is that, if Huawei can knock Luxeed S7 out of the ball park, it can easily scale down to mass markets or scale up to luxury markets, which would cover the likes of VW, Toyota and BBA.

In 2024, as the economic situation gradually improves and exports and natural gas can maintain current levels, the heavy truck market capacity is expected to reach 1.15-1.2 million units, an increase of approximately 21-25%.

It further stated that the current national average oil and gas price difference remains at around 2.5 yuan. The company judges that the domestic oil and gas price difference is expected to remain between 1-2 yuan at least until the first half of next year. Pure electric heavy trucks are mainly used in closed scenarios and short distances, so they are replaced by diesel vehicles. . In response to the rapid growth in demand for natural gas heavy trucks, Foton Motor has actively adjusted its product structure. Currently, natural gas products on multiple platforms such as GTL and EST are on the market, with power covering multiple horsepower segments such as 440, 460, 500, and 530. In terms of performance and cost-effectiveness, It has strong competitive advantages and terminal sales continue to grow. In October, the domestic heavy truck market share reached 13%, with cumulative sales of 14,500 units from January to October, with a market share of 11.6%, a year-on-year increase of 6 percentage points; Auman Galaxy has begun switching to 2024 new products in November. Pricing on s7 is expected but the 55k rmb rebate is pretty over the top. Just reinforces my belief that Huawei is going to make this price war really ugly.

Huawei Technologies has reportedly invited five carmaking partners to join the new joint venture for intelligent auto systems and components that the Chinese telecoms giant plans to establish.

Nio strategy finally paying off after 3 years. They've been talking about opening up their swap stations since they first presented their strategy in 2020 iirc. Surprised they got it off the ground when it seems like the industry has moved past the need for battery swapping. It doesn't feel like Nio is operating with any urgency like it's competitors are.

According to rumours, Changan will take up to 40% stake of while other SOE carmakers will take around 5% each. This tieup kind of reminds me of Toyota's relationship with Denso

A full tieup with Huawei across all products could be the boost that Changan needs to stand out from the million other brands and become China's Toyota. China needs a second high volume producer like BYD that can truly go global instead of just fighting for a couple % market share in China and exporting to a few markets.
