New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

I won't do the full Australian breakdown this month, instead here are October sales of selected China-brand EVs:

BYD Atto 3: 912
MG MG4: 751
BYD Dolphin: 100
GWM Ora: 77

Dolphin deliveries only began in the last few days of the month so I wouldn't take that as a true reflection of demand levels. That said I don't think MG4 had a full month on sale either. I was going to list Tesla sales for comparison, but Tesla deliveries are still far too variable month-to-month to serve as a useful indicator of anything.

GWM Tank 300 sold 643 units across the month, a pretty respectable turnout for a new and relatively niche vehicle from an unknown (sub-)brand, particularly one that has faced a fair bit of backlash over the

under heavy braking. GWM definitely needs to rectify this if possible, because the kinds of people who buy these vehicles are definitely the kinds of people who will sit in a bar or around a campfire or at a worksite all day talking about this stuff.

Chery sold 200k units in October including exports

Another record for them breaking 200k for the first time. Partially thanks to western sanctions on Russia

Yep, Russian sanctions have really helped Chery.

Keep in mind that you need sales network and local distribution to do well in export markets. Chery has been developing this for years. That's why they export more than anyone else.

Byd is now up to 30k/month. Already more than geely brand. Don't expect it to double again overnight. It needs time to grow.

BYD/Denza on a roll this morning

Denza Sales chief came out to address the entire 800V hype and why it's a misnomer

Videos of Denza N7 coming out showing very good Highway NOA performance, yet people continue to think somehow BYD is bad at software

KG Mobility & BYD teaming up for battery pack and factory in Korea
and develop next gen hybrid platform. So, looks like KG will use BYD's next gen DM-i (5th gen), lol

BYD launching eBus9 in Korea, planning 120 deliveries this year
