Just because the founder is a Chinese American, his company got denied in grants. It is racist motivation in attempt to deny Chinese American company from flourishing.

Yes Americans want to spin Chinese still would rather live in racist America than in China meaning racism is no problem so no one should complain about it.

Chery reporting a lot of sales for May. It's a major exporter of cars, but basically just ICE cars. It is now looking to get into BEVs and PHEVs. I think it has pretty good reputation and sales network in much of global south. So we will see how its transition goes

Current state of sadness for VW SAIC plants. More shutdowns likely coming for ICE plants

BYD's F brand is actually 方程豹 as its weibo registration suggests

BYD going to build some electric f-1 cars? It must be a luxury/performance car segment they are targeting with this branding. FCB doesn't quite roll off the tongue though.

I may Buy a Jetour, It's so futuristic unlike the Japanese and SK cars. I don't mind the problem of spare parts because it's cheap at PHP1,300,000 ($23,000), the Japanese and Korean equivalent cost nearly at PHP2,000,000 ($36,000) with spartan design full of plastic, add on like leather seats and sun roof may cost you an additional $6,000.

Toyota fanboys are always excusing the plastics by saying its more reliable like that lol. I remember an Australian YT channel reviewing a $30k Chinese car. It had mostly faux leather and some plastics which was commented as a negative because of its 'cheap feeling'. But when they reviewed a $40k-50k+ Toyota(A smaller car btw);despite having pretty much all grey plastics everywhere inside, they just brushed off that one thing like its nothing

Also look no further than the Landcruiser 70 series

Chinese start-up claims breakthrough with all-weather EV battery

A Chinese battery start-up claims to have overcome one of the key sticking points for electric car owners — the loss of power capability and range in cold climates.

Greater Bay Technology says its new Phoenix cell is made with superconducting materials and contains thermal management technology that can heat the battery back from -20 °C to 25 °C in five minutes. That allows the lithium ion battery to operate as normal and charge within six minutes in all weather conditions, according to Huang Xiangdong, Greater Bay’s co-founder and chair.

Many people correlates Japanese Car as reliable, BUT with mass availability of spare parts it isn't, it also breakdown frequently. That is the only selling point of Toyota, the cheap availability of spare parts therefore when damage can be repaired in a instant and be of used.

That is a lesson the Chinese Car manufacturer should learn to break into a new market, After Sales Services, aside from having a good car they should stock up a lot on spare parts.

An example FORD EVEREST TITANUIM beat Toyota Fortuner by a mile in both design and performance, BUT Ford price it at a premium with expensive maintenance due to high cost of spare parts.
