Now DM-i shipment to South America. It's interesting that they've targeted third world country this hard with PHEV. Makes a lot of sense to do so in places without sufficient charging infrastructure. Song+ DM-i is the #1 model in China, so it's success in international market is very logical.

But they won't conquer German Market if BYD Han is selling for 72000 euros. The price is a blunder from BYD.
Who cares? BYD is already selling whatever it can produce anyway

It would be idiotic for BYD to reduce its profitability just so it can get some brownie western sales. Its also for branding, if what you sell is cheap, people will associate you as a cheap brand. See how much money Tesla is raking because it has managed to convince people that it is a premium brand

It's selling everything what it produces because it has good quality for the buck. Tesla model 3 sells for 40-55k euro in Europe, who will buy Han for 72k? It is in the same category and it should be sold for max 55k euro.

In China the most expensive version of Han is for like 290k RMB about 40k euro. Someone who have though of 72k euro price in Europe felt from the chair, for this price Europeans have their own brands of audi and bmw.

If it sells, it sells. If they don't see the sales they want, they will reduce prices

Nothing bad with testing market demand for maximum profit

Xiangyang battery factory is now in production.

There should be a lot more of this going online next year. Each production line produces around 1.875 GWh of battery a year. The battery production increase next year will allow them to supply their own cars, energy storage and som external customers.

remember this, BYD is able to sign the deal, start work, finish factory and start production in the same year. It's taking CATL/Zeekr 4 years to do the same.
