NIO opens first NIO House in Germany, its second in Europe​

(NYSE: NIO) has officially opened its first NIO House in Germany, its second in Europe, after the company opened its first such facility in Europe a year ago in Norway.

The company's first NIO House in Germany opened on December 16 local time and is located on Kurfurstendamm near the Emperor Wilhelm Memorial Church, according to an article in its mobile app today.

The NIO Germany team held a ceremony to celebrate the opening of the facility, and Ralph Kranz, general manager of NIO Germany, spoke to the media and guests about the company's business progress since entering the European market, and its plans to further bring its products and complete operating system to more German users.

NIO Houses are the flagship showrooms of NIO, and the company's showrooms also include the smaller NIO Spaces.

NIO users can have a cup of coffee and chat with their friends here, or brainstorm with their workmates. It is possible to hold sharing sessions with friends, birthday parties, and open users' own yoga classes.

With NIO House, NIO hopes to make this lifestyle available to users in every city, so that outsiders will think that buying an NIO vehicle is not just getting a car, but joining a high-end lifestyle group.

It's responsible for most of the 651k cars produced in Hunan. Also produces DM-i, electric motor and other parts. Takes just 3 minutes to produce 1 DM-i motor and 6 months for the DM-i phase 1 factory to get put into production.

More ADAS partner for BYD
As I said, BYD will work with multiple partners and find the ones it likes and force them to hand over the technology. That's why BYD will never work with Huawei. Huawei will not hand over its top tech.

The Wuwei plant in Wuhu county, Anhui is in full production with 20 production line (close to 40 GWh based on previous calculation). It took just 15 months from contract signing to reach the full production. The speed of these production ramp up makes all the "giga" factory announcement in America look like jokes.
This is likely to supply Hefei car plant with most of the production.

At minus 30 degrees Celsius, 60 new energy models were tested, BYD performed well, and Toyota bZ4X is still rubbish!

I am once again impressed by BYD, originally not a car company (a battery company) but wiped the floor with established car companies, not even close. Their strategy and development should be a landmark business case.

I have a solution to all these temperature problems: If the temperature where you are gets to -30 degrees, be elsewhere.

New BYD FinDreams battery factory is coming online in Taizhou, Zhejiang province. Another place I have not heard of before BYD opened up a factory there. just 9 month from factory break to start of production. Unbelievable. Expected to reach 22 GWh when fully ramped. Production to start in end of Q1.

This is quite enlightening
Tesla is in trouble with their 2 models. I don't know what Tesla can do if loses its brand appeal in China. If it's losing > 250k market advantage, then it can't do price premium over BYD cars or any of these other guys. That's terrible for their margins. This is in line with my earlier post about shrinking order backlog and production stoppage.

Hopefully more Teslas catch fire and malfunction
