People really have to stop throwing sdn around like it's something is govt can just add to without any checks or balances or legal authority. With all the attention is govt has paid to Huawei, there still hasn't been any mention of adding it to sdn.

But let's look at a few other reasons why this is an unfound fear.

Numerous American companies depend on byd as part of their supply chain.

It would be a huge political nightmare for any us administration to ban the world's number 1 ev maker and one that has been so public about fighting climate change. Remember, that's a huge part of the wef, neo liberal agenda.

Byd vehicles are already all over America and it has a huge union operated plant in California that produce vehicles using more than 70% American parts. Byd is deeply connected with Californian politicians.

By the time American politicians get to add byd to sdn, it will be all over western world. In England, it is the largest electric bus producer. Try to implement sen would be a nightmare.

All the major automakers will be relying on byd in their supply chain. I mean all the major European ones. Have fun to Europe trying to ban and preventing anyone from buying cars with byd interior. That would destroy the European auto industry.

Let's say none of that is enough to dissuade American politicians, there is still the problem of market itself. If America puts sdn on byd, china is guaranteed to nationalize all American auto plants in china. Good luck to Tesla, Ford and gm after that. China is 1/3 of worlds auto market and byd will take 50% market share after that. Any country that ban byd will get banned from china. Have fun German automakers! Byd will still be able to export to all of global south and be the largest automaker in the world. Tesla will never have a chance to be the largest.

Byd is about the hardest company to sanction in the world.

The Biden regime just sanction the entire Chinese semiconductor industry which many American chips and chip equipment manufacturers are making lots of money from and it is trying to force its vassals to do the same. Was there any checks and balance? Rationality doesn't exist for American politicians. The Biden regime is worst than Trump regime.

BYD better to have contingency plans in place because it will be on an American sanction list soon.
GM is massive in China. China can easily retaliate like what they did to hyundai and kia

On a side note, GM has pushed back their plans to make 400k EVs by end of 2023 by 6 months to end of H1 2024

I won't be surprised if BYD ends up producing more in a month than GM's 2.5 year goal

The Japanese makers should be the first to be displaced from China. The yankees are not going to help the Japanese at all.

Again, sanctioning and putting on SDN are two different things. I just explained a whole host of reasons why BYD is fully sanction proof. It doesn't look like you are even bothering to respond to all the points I put there. The day that America puts BYD on SDN list is the day that China/America have fully decoupling and we are down to 2 worlds that don't interact with each other. Even in that world, BYD will dominate in the sphere where it can sell cars and other automakers will be non operational due to their reliance on Chinese supply chain.

You speak as if you know this with 100% certainty but in fact Vincent makes sense, it’s you that’s not listening. Since becoming a moderator you are acting like you are the boss.

Your logical arguments don’t make sense when faced with an illogical administration.

If the US wants to sanction BYD they will do it, without considering logic, or your arguments. That’s the reality
