Paris Motor show starts tomorrow. The speculation on Chinese social media is that BYD's new premium brand's new off road vehicle will get announced during this time. It was supposed to get announced in October and this seems like a good itme.

Dongfeng fengon-580's PHEV variant is apparently just using BYD's DM-i motor technology. BYD does a lot of these deals for motor/battery technology with other domestic automakers that don't really get announced.

Next year, we will have blade battery version of the battery box. The sales of battery box have been good source of revenue.

BYD is taking over Anhui province. We know they already have a huge plant in Hefei. Well, more details on their new plant in the Funan village of the municipality of Fuyang that will produce parts for 1 million NEVs.

10 billion RMB invested here. Work on factory started in October, will start installing machinery in November and enter mass production in December. Considering that the signing of this only got announced 3 weeks ago, it's quite amazing they can enter production so soon New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

And, they just got another 2500 mu of land at Wuwei (无为), which is on the outskirt of Wuhu(芜湖) in Anhui province. This plant produces batteries. if you look at that page, you can see all the new land they've gotten. We will probably have 7 or 8 phases at the way they are expanding.

Keep in mind that this announcement was a new phase. At this point, Wuhu factories already had 20 battery production line as well as 22 pack production line.

Q1 808 million RMB
Q2 2.787 billion RMB
Q3 5.5 to 5.9 billion RMB.

Clearly, their profit per car is expanding here.

Now, they also expanded Atto 3 into Mongolia

GWM is also showcasing its vehicles in the Paris Motor show. China Inc has arrived in Europe. It would be interesting to see how the sales go. BYD right now is pricing its vehicles so much higher than in China. But realistically, no one else is undercutting them, so they can get away with the higher margins.

BYD is doing more than just putting on a good show. It’s drawing interest from governments in central and southern Europe that are eager to land investment from the company, which is contemplating manufacturing cars locally as relationships between China and western countries that are threatened by its rise turn increasingly fraught.
“Some of the countries are very detailed,” Michael Shu, general manager and managing director of BYD Europe, said of offers it’s getting to help address the company’s needs for labor, land, energy, construction and an ecosystem of nearby suppliers. “Even in China, we don’t have such a kind of investing in the service.”
