I think I underplayed BYD's Hanover showcase.

They actually announced an all new eBus blade platform. The eTrucks look familiar, but I guess they should be considered new for European market.

Just to show how much BYD is exploding. it's JV with Faurecia is opening up their 3rd new factory of the year. It makes seats for cars. This doubled the number of JV factories from 3 at beginning of the year.

The factory completed equipment installation and debugging, and started production only 45 days and 55 days respectively after the decision-making. On July 20, the factory greeted the birth of its first automotive seat.
And they've already produced 10k of seat sets by this point.

Atto 3 are getting imported into Fiji with EV Direct.

Now, the numbers for second week of September still does not seem high enough for this month to reach 200k sales for BYD, but we will have to wait a little more see.

From Jan to Aug. only Tesla and NIO have seen sales increase in the luxury segment. HongQi is about flag. Every else is down. Cadillac and Lexus are down the most. I'd say that this is still just a preview. So far, domestic EV players have not really played a key part here. The decline will likely accelerate next 2 years as BYD gets more into the luxury segment.

BYD coming to Belgium and Luxemberg in October. I think it's fair to say that they are going full on into European market starting at around Paris Motor show.

This really disappoints me. Even after the recent banning, Zeekr is still picking Nvidia chips? What is wrong with these people?

People on catching onto Chinese EV and battery makers taking over Europe. However, they still haven't pieced together just how much this has been done. Haven't done the math or link together all the battery makers and automakers yet.

Sodium ion battery is getting more attention. Things are moving so fast in this industry and people who are not focusing on this are not keeping up. I've seen article complaining about China getting some American battery tech for free 5 years ago. I seriously do wonder what is wrong with people. Nobody cares about technology from 5 years ago anymore. If you are not in China right now, you don't understand the fast innovation. 4680 is a joke.

Who would've thought Gotion would be the first Chinese battery maker in America. I would be curious who they support. The big 3 would make sense from the location. However, Gotion is supported by VW, so i always just assume they are building plants for VW.

BYD Xi'an produced 510k cars so far this year. They are up to 70k a month now and going to add the 3rd phase in September. Their sales volume represent like 10% of Xi'an economy, even if we don't count the service industry they support
Also, Song production is reaching 50k a month

lol, between XPeng and NIO, pretty clear which one is more premium

CATL, in cooperation with GCL, will build universal battery swap stations for heavy trucks. The module-to-bracket (MTB) battery packing technology for heavy trucks introduced by CATL a few days ago is compatible with battery swapping.


Some of the biggest legacy automakers, especially Japanese, are really stuck in the past.

This was the Chinese article on the first 2 point. BYD has already produced the vehicles for Bahia/Salvador project. Sao Paolo is their second in Brazil.
