Industry sources claim that negotiations over EU tariffs are going well. Definitely a promising sign, but time will tell.

Industry sources indicate China-EU discussions have recently progressed smoothly with a high likelihood of resolution. Supply chains are already responding by expanding European operations in anticipation of positive outcomes. Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao recently met with Hildegard Muller, Chairwoman of the German Association of the Automotive Industry, emphasizing hopes for an "early and proper resolution" to the anti-subsidy case. Wang encouraged increased German automotive investment in China to promote technological innovation.

According to a Taiwanese supplier to Chinese automakers, previously stalled talks have gained momentum since Donald Trump's return to the White House and renewed US-China tariff tensions. Both China and Germany reportedly view the situation as an opportunity to gain an advantage over US-based EV manufacturers.

A real-scenario record of self-driving from Huawei S9 when facing extreme road conditions. Incredible performance.

This is a typical testing scenario for verification and compliance. As in general software engineering, QA is essentially trying to test and verify 1% corner cases for qualifying a release candidate. In L3 regulation, it essentially means coverage of tricky driving conditions demonstrated in the above video. And the regulatory authority requires the vendors to cover the liability under all L3 driving scenarios. That over time separates competitors from wannabes, simply because liability is now clearly defined and implication could be very expensive.

So far I only saw Huawei ADS 4.0 announced L3 highway compliance. And I expect its ADS 5.0 in the Beijing Auto Show next year will extend coverage to city driving.

China built 47% more EV charging facilities in a year. I think China is probably one of a few countries that have a robust enough electric power grid that can handle MW chargers.
