It's almost assured that Tesla will open up another giga location in China. Shanghai location after the second factory will be out of space. The most likely alternative for them will be Beijing or Jilin, because there is very established suppliers there. Tesla is just not adventurous enough to get into places without prior large automotive industrial base. It's not a BYD. At this point, it's pretty obvious that Giga shanghai is the reason Tesla is making profit.
tesla should open another factory in the south in Guangdong province, where it is closer to exports markets in Europe. Guangdong is already a power house in automobile making with byd, xpeng and GAC. This geographic diversification will mitigate any further covid lockdowns.

The Shanghai government should create more land by reclamation.

Bro I don't understand why RIVIAN and LUCID didn't do a Tesla and open a Gigafactory in China? Is it all about American pride I mean PIE...lol Soon enough they may file for bankruptcy, maybe they're afraid of competition knowing how crap their products are. ;)
We would rather see these Chinese provinces financing gigafactories for Nio instead.

Guangdong already has BYD and Aion, two of China's strongest EV makers. It should go to Tianjin or Beijing instead. The north needs Tesla to revive their auto sector with new parts makers and suppliers. It's been in terrible state since the death of Tianjin FAW and BAIC

Resale value is probably a good way of measuring a car's popularity. I'm a little surprised Zeekr 001 is in there. Maybe it's high because the quantity is so low. Aside from that, looks like Porsche Taycan, Model Y and Dolphin all hold value pretty well. I would imagine Seal would be up there too once its starts appearing on this chart.

On the PHEV side, I'm a little surprised here. I guess the Rolls Royce and Porsche hold their values quite well due to being extremely rare. Aside from that, Song+ is definitely the star of BYD lineup right now.

This shouldn't be a surprise, but BYD will be coming to Malaysia soon and possibly with the parent of its distributor in Singapore

Amazing right, Shenzhen's public transportation is fully EVs now. No wonder BYD is not selling as many commercial vehicles anymore. It also has one of the highest ratios of passenger EVs in China.

It's confirmed. 35.5k eur for base model of Atto 3 and 59.5k eur for Han

BYD's interview with Nikkei. Nothing new here.

I posted an article from cleantechnica a week ago showing the sales of BYD in NZ. What I didn't realize is that Atto 3 was the 4th top selling model in all of New Zealand. Not bad for an initial entrance.
