Here is a problem if you are BYD. Despite all the press release this year, BYD is still considered by some people to be low quality, while others are not sure about NEV. This is where Denza and the new ultra premium brand comes in. Only when you have the really good stuff, are people willing to consider rest of your lineup and your brand to be higher quality.
Notice if you look at follow on tweet, Han DM-i is replacing Camry and Accord for a lot of people. So, this is PHEV replacing ICE cars for those who are still have range anxiety. Delivery time is 2 to 3 months for Han DM-i. They simply can't produce these things fast enough. Despite the helium behind Seal, dynasty series is still the money maker for BYD.

They are looking to take over a ford plant in Bahia and build 10k cars per year locally in Phase 1. BYD already has a factory in Brazil for manufacturing buses. Looks like Han, Tang and Song are going to be brought over along with D1 bus. If you've seen the sales price of BYD Han in Brazil, you will see why they are doing this. This certainly makes sense in light of their recent decision to expand to 100 dealers in Brazil by end of 2023

Changzheng auto is moving off ICE vehicles and into NEVs. There are probably jobs that electric vehicles can't do. I don't know at what point hydrogen fuel vehicles become more efficient than PHEV or BEVs

The strategic implication of electric vehicle industry is worth a thread of its own. Having reduced domestic consumption of gas also means reduced energy imports in war time. And that brings a lot more freedom in diplomacy knowing your energy source is safe, in contrast to situation in Europe.

@tphuang Sir from my humble opinion, anything electric is sexy, the only thing going for BYD is that they did their homework right at the start and they have sharpen their teeth in the competitive Chinese CAR market. Another prime example is Geely, before their ICE vehicle is a laughing stock BUT after they acquire Volvo and have a major reorganization to focus on the Chinese market knowingly if you survived that environment you can conquer the rest of the world. Now Geely here is a known price disruptor putting to shame the Japanese car markers in performance, luxury and cost. Competition is great and I envy the Chinese consumers for having lots of choices.

@TK3600 bro we need to thank the Chinese energy planner, their energy mix strategy is adequate cause they still use a lot of coal powering station. And with the extensive usage of EV for daily life we may see a balanced approach, so expect more Coal generating plant being constructed, trading the carbon emission of one coal plant to millions of gas guzzling ICE vehicle.
