New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

Brand plays a big part in how Chinese people buy cars, even oversea Chinese here in North America. Take the new Genesis cars for example, they rival the German counterparts in price and (in my opinion) exceed them in execution in many areas, and they are generally accepted to be equals here in North America. But if you read/watch China-based auto reviewers, they will always question the value in Genesis because it's a Korean brand, despite admitting to how good it is.

In that sense, it's definitely an uphill battle for BYD, but I think creating a new brand to deliver the "premium/luxury" lineup is the right way to go.

I saw an Infiniti Q60 coupe on the road the other day. Seemed nice enough, sure it's a fine car...
Then I realized I couldn't think of an Infiniti since the G35...

补充一点,电网蓄电池也可能需要大量锂。

但是,是的,从战略角度来看,这将意味着中国停止进口石油/天然气/煤炭,因为电力将来自核能/风能/太阳能/水电的资本投资。

For reference world wide car sale is 66.7million 2021.
As a reference, China's automobile output in 2021 was 26.082 million units, and the sales volume was 26.275 million units;)

This is probably going on more than people think. I read that one of the British royals helped with a coup in another South American country by investing money solely for private interests and for profit and not anything geopolitical. That one thing the West probably doesn't want known in the world that private people fund coups for personal profit.

I think they are going to be higher than 5 million this year. Especially with the recent auto purchase incentives. Byd by itself will probably get to 1.7 to 1.8 million.
Should we buy BYD stock, instead of tesla? Use the investment profits for buying the EV itself.

I own a Tesla car, but I bought BYD stocks.

More new. This Qiantu compact sports car looks pretty nice and have great acceleration on their 4WD version. Better deal than even BYD cars.

Polestar 3 came out and it looks good. I don't think it's best car ever by a Chinese automaker (Geely/Volvo), but it's already in Western markets. Even Leo Di Caprio came out with a ringing endorsement of it. Btw, Leo is also a fan and investor of BYD.
It will be built and sold in US as well as China.

Wuling Air EV now getting some coverage on insideevs. The price for this model is sneaking up. I have a feeling other Chinese EVs will be able to give better value proposition. But even so, it will do well. in the less competitive ASEAN market.

This is interesting from Tesla. Model 3 wait time in China is reducing while model y LR is extended. Could be a shift of production priorities. I think this is still quite surprising since they have not delivered many cars in China for 2 months. I think they are seeing Model 3 orders weaken or switched to competitors like Seal. We are past the point where people are willing to wait 6 months for Model 3 in China. If they can't deliver sooner, people will just order BYD or NIO or XPeng.

Looks like BYD battery unit confirmed that they are going to be supply blade battery to Tesla by saying that they are close to Tesla and learning from them.

I'm convinced now that US have full control over the EU organization and is behind these moves to destroy the economies of its members.
you know those people also exist in America too right? I don't mind it per se. A lot of the mining behind renewables and EV industry is really dirty and not up to par with 21st century labor code. Just because Chinese people are willing to go the extra mile and risk health in certain industries, doesn't mean people in the West would want to do the same. That's why I always find it funny when Americans and Europeans talk about needing to establish supply chain outside of China. Are they actually willing to work over time and risk their health to do it? I don't think so.

Okay, now cnevpost has an article on the BYD supplying Tesla battery. There is also a video of the interview that released this piece of news.
