Real companies (BYD) build factories to manfucature millions of cars. Other companies (NIO) like to go ultra slow on manufacturing and instead prefer to bombard us with nice JPEGs of upcoming models that it can't manufacture in scale.

I know where to bet my money on who will succeed more

I watched plenty of reviews on the latest NIO ET7, mostly praises. Certainly NIO's got its work cut out on manufacturing. But NIO cars are very nice products, you can't argue that customers are willing to pay a premium for them. On NOMI, you can just simply opt out if you don't like it. Too bad there's no NIO over in the States or I wouldn't mind getting one.

NIO should seriously get rid of naomi AI robot. It’s so intrusive and feel like a spy cam looking at you. Sooner or later NIO should set up their own manufacturing plant. They can easily raise funds for making or buying an established car manufacturing company. Even Xpeng has overtaken NIO in numbers of car delivered.
I love that thing. It's very cutesy and unique based from the videos. Instead of removing it they should improve on it cuz I hear the main complaint is that the AI doesn't work well with English yet or has trouble understanding instructions.

Nomi works superbly well in Chinese (and more features and functions almost like it's general AI! lol... but the machine learning is so impressive with Nomi it is like a more refined Siri/Cortana). I am impressed a previously unknown Chinese car maker could create something to the calibre of Nomi way back in 2017... well before cars had machine learning AI integrated with ... pretty much the entire ecosystem. At least that is the case in China where they have genuine IOT cars now. Others have pretty pathetic products in comparison... they're like the Verizon "5G" networks in 2018 lol.

After all Nomi even works in English now despite being clunky and far more limited in features.

It's definitely an appeal and a selling point for NIO. Google, your phone, your smart TV, your internet service provider, youtube, facebook, NSA, CIA and everything in between are all spying on you and collecting data, sometimes using active sensors on platforms to record. You're easily at your most boring when you're in your car. You're divulging much more "sensitive" intel about yourself when you type on your computer.

I didn't say that the cars aren't nice. Actually for me, NIO is up there with BYD on how its cars look.

However, manufacturing is where the real product comes out from, and NIO is badly lagging behind BYD on this
