Looks like Feb is the slow month.China's EV sales in January 2022 is really impressive considering that:
- Subsidy for EVs is reduced by 30% in 2022 (it will be reduced to 0 by 2023.)
- January is usually a slow month because of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
Are there any electric motor cycle manufacturer in China?
Something like this:
Yes I saw that video myself several months back. Even though it's not street legal, but he did say it was cheaper and better than having to buy a brand new golf cart, even with all the shipping costs and assemblies.I found this humorous.
China accounts for 53% of global passenger NEV sales in 2021
As the world's largest automotive market, China surpassed Europe last year to regain its position as the largest contributor to global new energy passenger vehicle sales.
In 2021, global sales of new energy passenger vehicles, including plug-in hybrids, battery-electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles, were 6.23 million units, up 118 percent from a year earlier, Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), said in a report released Sunday.
China sold 3.31 million new energy passenger cars in 2021, reaching a 53 percent share of the global market, surpassing Europe's 33 percent and the US's 11 percent, the report showed.
CATL remains world's largest EV battery maker for fifth consecutive year
CATL's installed power battery capacity was 96.7 GWh in 2021, up 167.13 percent from 36.2 GWh in 2020, according to data released Monday by South Korea-based market research firm SNE Research.
This gives CATL a global market share of 32.6 percent, up 8 percentage points from 24.6 percent in 2020, and is the fifth consecutive year in the position of the world's largest power battery maker.
LG Energy Solution had an installed capacity of 60.2 GWh in 2021, up 75.51 percent year-on-year. It ranked second with a 20.3 percent share, down from 23.4 percent in 2020.
I doubt this will happen even if LG starts to make LFP.However, in LG Energy Solution's view, it has the potential to take CATL's place in the future.
So in 2021, China EV battery makers' world market share is 46.5%.Chinese companies including BYD, CALB, Gotion High-Tech, Envision AESC and Svolt Energy are also on the list of the world's 10 largest power battery makers.
BYD's market share was 8.8 percent, CALB's 2.7 percent, Envision AESC's 1.4 percent and Svolt Energy's 1 percent.
Does CATL have any newer batteries to compete with tesla?I doubt this will happen even if LG starts to make LFP.
So in 2021, China EV battery makers' world market share is 46.5%.
