Elon Musk was actually really slow to jump onto Lithium Phosphate batteries which are the norm in China.
Elon Musk was just following China's lead. They talk like it was tesla that was in charge.
Aah so i wasn't the only one reading the title like that and then getting confused about the articles content.
That china leading the charge became obvious in the lower part of the article content.
It's politically unacceptable to have a positive headline about China in the mainstream media these days.
They have to mention Musk or Tesla every time talking about EV or the western readers/audience will not be terribly interested in the news. Very few people in the west have heard or cared about Li-Auto, Xpeng, or even BYD.
