PLAN recently ordered 8 more of those anti-sub helicopters from Russia, another head scratcher, China should be able to design and make those anti-sub copters on its own. For a country doing stealth fighters should be able to make those copters on its own.

according to huitong, these are not new ones. The news with be 92x4.

China doesn't have anything comparable to Kamov as we speak. It takes time to develop these things. In fact, they do have a project for it right now, but it's not top priority like J-XX, so they are not putting as much resource in it. And besides, Z-15 will be their naval helicopter of choice in the future and it will be the most advanced helicopter of it's class. So, why do you concern about buying kamovs, when it's perfectly functional and they are capable of developing (and are developing) something much better.

Manual operated CWIS? At this age? Kind of backward don't you think so?

not so, after the bombing of USN ship by suicide bomber in yemen and somalian pirate attack, most US and NATO (even the russian) begin to outfit there ship with manual operated MP gun system.
actually USN ship operating in indian ocean and the middle east carry manual /power operated Bushmaster 25mm gun system.

What I am coming at is... how the hell would human reflexes or speed catch up with the missiles that had penetrate the other defences. If this weapon is used to engage small boats or fight terrorists or pirates, yes, I can understand... but if it is a weapon against missiles then I think it is pretty useless.

Here is the wikipedia description of Bushmaster:

Designed primarily as a close-range defensive measure, it provides protection against patrol boats, floating mines, and various shore-based targets.

Not every ship is tasked to go take on other navies. For coast guard vessels, there is no need to defend against AShMs because they should never face any, so equipping them with expensive type 730s are a pointless waste.

Besides, the gun is set up in what looks to be an automated turret, coupled with integrated sights and maybe even a targeting computer, reaction times and accuracy could easily not be far off from a fully automated CIWS like the type 730.

With this gun, you also have the advantage of having a man directly in the loop so you have a last ditch back up in case the incoming missile pulls some fancy EW trick and confuse the bejesus out of your fully automated systems.

Well, calling it a CIWS in most people's mind would lead them to think something along the lines of Phalanx, Goalkeeper, and 730s, but this is a CIWS depending on definition nevertheless. These guns have their uses. They have a lower ROF and are better for shooting at Somali pirates. Not sure how effective they are at shooting down missiles though.
