I recently saw a movie call IronSky on Netflix. At first I had very very low expectations and thought it would be on par with made for TV type Sci-Fi shows or worse BUT I was blown away by it's production quality and semi good acting. The plot is ridiculous because it involves a bunch of Nazis from the far side of the Moon intending to invade Earth but it was purposely made to be a campy B type action thriller. Either way I was very impressed with the CGI and general production quality. I looked at IMDB and saw that the budget was like $10 mil and was even more impressed!!!

Ok you got my curiosity. Now I want to go see it.

I loved Iron Sky, one of the most hilarious action films you will likely ever see. The CGI and big battle scenes were also really impressive in their own right, but the story was just full of clever satire and takes great pleasure in mocking absolutely everyone and everything, including itself.

I also just saw Side Effects tonight. It was a pretty clever film with some interesting twists and turns, but the story had some pretty obvious plot holes that were hard to overlook, and for some reason, I just could not sympathise with Jude Law's hero character and the way he won just left a really bad taste in my mouth. But maybe that's just me.

Overall a good film and worth a watch, but its not one of those films you would feel like watching again afterwards. Not for me at least.

This story is interesting in another way, if you look at the treatment that Iran got in the previous Transformers movie. China like Iran is not a very popular nation in the US at the moment. But i guess the 77 million Iranians doesn't affect their bottom line like the 1,3 billion Chinese does.

Look at it this way... I just saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter on premium cable. They blamed slavery on Vampires. Other movies Hollywood tried making a white a founding member of the of the Black Panthers. Or how about John Wayne helping out in the Boxer Rebellion? Maybe one will suggest don't take movies seriously. Some people are outraged that China is made to be in brighter light with it's influence today? Well then it works the other way around.

Hollywood has made those sort of movies already Tom Cruise is the "Last Samurai" Daniel Day Lousie is the "Last of the Mohicans".

I didn't feel that vampires were made to be the cause of slavery, but rather they profited from it and were thus staunch supporters of slavery.

Of course slavery was around before that but if I recall correctly they were made as a reason why there was slavery in the South. If critics are complaining about Chinese influence in Hollywood making Chinese looking better than "reality," then the same can be said suggesting vampires are responsible for slavery in the South. I saw vampires in control of the South even down to Confederate soldiers.

Finally saw Iron Man 3, and in 3D, no less. No, it is not a perfect movie. However I understand why it did so well at the box office after sitting through it. The action scenes were superb and despite the heavy exposition, it was fairly easy to sit through them since they are interspersed with humorous dialogues. Here is the thing though. Although most of the jokes were along the lines of "dick...taor" and in general very cliched and sophomoric, I think the acting by the main cast saved them and managed to get the audience to chuckle. Gotta thank Robert Downey Jr. for his deadpan delivery.

Plot wise the whole movie was a nightmare. The mandarin thing was a complete let down and I felt like apologizing to Sir Ben Kinsley when he was making such a fool out of himself. I never really understood the motive behind the real big bad (Aldritch something, I think). Some how he was so offended by Stark's douchiness that he decided to create an army of super lavamen (it makes sense in context). The effects are cool, but there wasn't really much substance in the plot. My main criticism is reserved for the ending. It was as if the director went "oh hey, we have enough cool effects, no let's just end this thing and make money". Not very satisfactory for me and left too many loose threads hanging.

The supporting cast is ok. The little kid character was surprisingly unannoying and the only downside was that he underacted, which is expected for a child actor.

In the end, I think the film was a great popcorn flick and although it is no way comparable to the first film, it still stands as a pretty solid action/adventure superhero film. 7/10 from me.

p.s. Don't see it in 3D. The effects are great enough by themselves and I think 3D was added in post production. Felt like I wasted an extra 3 dollars so debris could fly at my face.
