Never a big fan of 3D however I saw SW on IMAX 3D last evening and was pleasantly surprised by the significant 'enhancement' over regular movie. I was especially impressed with the sound/audio immersion. IMHO worth paying the premium over regular showing.

You are obviously spoilt for choice. What we get on TV over here isn't worth the price in purchasing a bargain basement TV. Subscription TV such as sky Sky TV isn't much better with many of their shows at least a couple of seasons old. The showing of video gaming as sports on TV really takes the cake. Before you know it, it will become an Olympic Games event.

We actually don't even have cable/satellite etc. we have Netflix and Amazon prime, which we watch using our BD player. We also have an iPad designated as tv iPad, which is hooked up to our TV and has apps for all the major networks. We just go through all of them and catch up on all the awesome shows.

We do get HD channels OTA. Since we live in a big city, we can typically get about 20-25 HD channels just using a digital rabbit ear. But we never watch these channels since we don't have time to watch anything on weekdays, when good shows are on. So we have to go back and catch up on them on weekends.

Internet Speed here too slow for Netflicks etc. We only have dialup modem for leisure activities. 8/7 families live in our settlement/town which isnt big enough to deserve a name or a decent internet service. One good thing about it though is its the best place to be if someone let the big one off. all our fellow setters and ourselves have enough food in our larders to last 2yrs.

My father and other family members watched Chevy Chase in "National lampoons American Vacation" and "European Vacation" in the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed it especially my father who said it reminded him of the times when mother and himself took us kids on holiday around Europe and U.S.A.
He is an old Fleetwood Mac fan so the soundtrack to the film "Holiday Road" was an instant hit for him. So much so we made a copy of the song and it continually plays on a loop in his cars sound system.
He can now cruise our national highways and listen to this simple but catchy song to his hearts delight.

My favourite has to be "Christmas Vacation". The first one felt a bit too mean spirited at parts (like tying the old lady's body to the chair). It was really funny in a twisted sense whereas Christmas Vacation was more heartfelt and uplifting.

Came as a genuine shock to me. I was unaware that he had cancer.

Pretty legendary guy considering that he got his breakout roll when he was 40!

I know, same goes to legendary singer David Bowie whom died of cancer on Monday recently too. It was cancer also.:( I like some of his songs and I grew up listening to it during the 80s.
