If it's just a small scenes at the Great Wall and a hotel in Beijing, then I don't know how the media thinks it's some sort of indoctrination especially if it's only being seen in the Chinese release.

A few years back there was a hubbub over a game called smite. The media coverage centered around the female characters in the game. The game was written using the mythological gods and goddesses of religions from all over the world but three were pointed to with the term "Porn-ification" Kali from Hinduism, Neith from Ancient Egyptian mythology and Aphrodite from the Greco roman. There complaints were they they were to sexist, to scantily clad, to curvaceous. And the makers of the game did change the Character of Kali. But if you compare the character of Kali to the way she is traditionally displayed the original character version is more accurate. And as to the other character goddesses. Once again they kept to the origins and used the myth. In fact if anything they covered up far more then the temple wall versions. As all three goddess are normally at least half naked to full Monty in myth.
but the fact that Kali is normally shown top less with a simple skirt normally made from severed body parts, wielding curved blades from her multiple blue skinned arms did not matter. Nor that Neith is often shown wearing a traditional dress of antiquity that simply covers just above the bellybutton or that Aphrodite rarely is ever dressed at all and that the game had all three covered in the critical spots.

the press just picked it up and rolled with it. They found that one group who took offense and let then rant.

There are J-10s in Tranasformers 4 =)
They don't really fight anything, but after the battle is over you see and hear them flying around near the end of the movie. Don't really get a good shot of them either, but you can make out delta-winged aircraft with roughly the same proportions as J-10s.

As far as I could tell, they were twin engined, so I think they were J-20's.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually such low quality models, that they're not really any particular jet at all, since they're only ever in the background, or zooming past the camera extremely quickly.

I wasn't able to make out whether they were single-engined or not, but the paint scheme seemed to be lighter in tone than the stealth coatings on the J-20.

Man, from the moment when you hear someone say to the fictional Chinese defense minister, "fighter jets are already in the air," i was exploding with excitement, wondering if I'll get to see J-10s or supped up Flanker or even J-20s fire missiles and take down alien spacecraft. That would've been a first in any major Hollywood movie. Guess was kind of a let down :(

the military in this one was more background anyway. I mean even the US Military who in the last three movies got top billing, Col. Lennox and his NEST were the Stargate SG1 the GI Joes working with the Autobots even when the rest of the Government was weasels. This time out they were gone to. And in there place a Rouge CIA group who doesn't even bother to tell the President that "Oh yeah about that hunting decepticons... Well were to busy working with one. So just keep paying us well we kill Autobots instead."
on the upside, although the J?? Fighter were not in the hunt. You did not have to scream at the screen watching fighters engage in air to air over a population center like the first and third movie as that is a major violations of USAF ROE and every stray round would have likely been killing people or doing massive damage.

added detail. The codename used by this movie for the CIA operation that replaced NEST is Cemetery Wind. Like How NEST was and is a real agency of the US government, Cemetery Wind was the codename of a actual unit but not of the CIA. Cemetery Wind was a code name used by the ISA or intelligence Support Activity they are part of JSOC and provide HUMINT to help mission plan operations for Delta and Devgru. They also provided Sigint. Officially they do not operate as displayed in the movie. They are a support unit not direct action.

In the movie when Everything In Hong Kong starts getting very ugly we see a Actor Playing either the Minister of National Defense or The PLA General Staff Who it seems has a office there in the seven star Hotel or is staying there or is shopping there or eating there or Something getting the call that Hong Kong is getting stomped. out side of that Prime and the Dinobots have a recruiting session at the great wall.

The Pangu hotel itself would have made a good Transformer. The article did not actually say how the companies resolved their dispute, just that it was resolved, I wonder what the deal was.

The despite had to do with a ad agency. Basicly Pangu Plaza' parent company paid this agency for the placement of there "7 Star Hotel" in the film and the rights to use it in future permissions. Well troubles kicked off because of a dispute between the agency over the rights in the contract between the Mandarin and the English... (Sounds like a weird battle in the next ironman series). Pangu Plaza thought they were getting more then a shoot and wanted a big event. When that seemed to not be happening they filled a stop work order. That could have destroyed the release date for the movie. But last minute Paramount pulled aim Hollywood movie magic. Flew some cast and crew in moved Bumblebee to the Plaza and through a second opening party with reporters flown in. This satisfied the parent company owners and reopened negotiations a new deal was hammered in time and the stop work was tossed in time for the release date.

I hope this movie turns out as good as it looks. The movie was previewed for critics on Friday and apparently is getting positive reviews.

The wife and I took three of our grandduaghters (ages 3-11) to see, "Airplanes 2: Fire and Resuce." It was a really fun and well done animated movie. Really good family entertainment. We really enjoyed it.
