Holy Officer Murphy they're doing a remake of Robocop. Suppose to open sometime in February of 2014. I like the new Robo suit although he does look a little like a black Cylon (from Battle Star Galactica).

I was thinking he looked more like a Eva from Evagelion.

Doesn't look like either to me. Just a modernized robocop.

Things I don't like about it though are the exposed hand, and the black color. Even in the trailer, with all the fancy movie angles and lighting to help out the black color, the silver still looked a lot better to me.

I don't like the suit at all.. not because it looks bad because it isn't but because it looks like a suit! Robocop is not a guy in some armored suit.. he is an android! only his 'head' is human everything else is or should be mechanical!

Exactly! the first thing I thought when I saw the photo was that this is too much like a Batman suit. He also looks like Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe movie.

times change reality changed the original was based on a 1982version of robotics now we have powered exoskeletons. As long as the heart remains the same I have no issues.l
when this Robocop hits blue ray their will be an extra about why they decided on his design. I will however summarize now by saying google "soldier 2030".

I'm with TerraN_EmpirE on this one. I find it just looks like a modern take on a humanoid robot, rather than the intentionally cluncky 80's concept of robots. Remember the Japanese robot one of the older robocop films? (IIRC) That guy looked completely human, let alone guy in a suit, and far from a robot at all.

On another note, aside from the black color, nothing here looks like batman to me.

Ironicly Metro City(AKA Detroit) is exactly what the movie forsaw of that city's future. The orginal movies depicted out of control crime, an ineffective police force, the city is facing crushing bankruptcy and the public employ unions are at odds with the city and state government. The only thing they didn't have in those movies was a shrinking city population. It is unreal and the real Detriot could use a real Robocop.

I guess it all depends on how much they stick to the original canon. If this is like a reboot of the franchise than perhaps it is acceptable. In the original canon his human body was so messed up there is no way he could've been in a suit afterward, exskeleton or not. Basically the only thing left of Murphy was his head/brain/spine and maybe his ticking heart. Everything else is pretty much mush after the amount of lead the bad guys pumped into his body and extremities!

Early rumors said Robocop had different modes. Fan boys complained that was making Robocop into a Transformer. Some said they made Robocop look too much like Iron Man. There was a lot of negative news during pre-production. One director dropped out and next one supposedly had conflicts with the producers as well.

I was a massive fan of the original film, the 2nd and 3rd films were crap, only the first was truly a great satirical piece because of strong writing and direction.

This looks like it'll incorporate the storylines of all three films plus the family element which is relatively new.

I honestly don't mind this, i'm actually cautiously optimistic about this project and actually am willing to wait and see where it goes with this.
