The main purpose of this family of vehicle is to fit inside a Z-8L and a Mi-171 with some room on both sides. AC-313A is designed with the same constraints in mind. This is to allow them to air lift a bunch of these into mountainous regions in Tibet or Taiwan or wherever else and move around and carry a lot of different missions. This vehicle is a really big deal for PLAGFChinese manufacturing and working labour expertise is impressive, all this variation and masses of military hardware is just impressive. In the context of western future conflicts it will be interesting which side holds the bay in the Military industrial field. By the way what is the exact role of this vehicles? I know Germany uses the Wiesel vehicle for airborne operations.

With everyone getting bigger vehicules it's just intriguing to see a fleet of way smaller ones.(Continued from above...)
Images of the fully-enclosed Mountain Cat variant undergoing high-altitude trials, presumably in Tibet.
How can they move to a bigger chassis when this is designed to be carried from transport helicopter?Surprised they don't just move to a bigger chassis, this new fully enclosed version looks like it's at a higher risk of rollover compared to the previous versions with lower centre of mass, which would be a concern in mountainous regions.
but quite hard to carry with an helicopter, even more at high altitude...Why not? Something like the strela from Russia weights 4.7 tons. View attachment 111760
May not be as agile as a mountain car in mountainous terrain, but much faster and likely more comfortable for long patrols.
