To be fair, an order for 500 Airbus A320s is unprecedented. Air India's order for 470 planes is also huge. This is a clear symbol of India's increasing economic might.

I suspect this is coordinated. After all, anything that distracts NATO, or a NATO country from China could be deliberate.

Similarly today, China saying today they Support Argentina in the Flaklands/Malvinas dispute, Cuba hosting military training.

That is 3 distractions, in 3 continents today.

It is not just internal economic strength but connectivity to regional countries for India. if it lower the ticket prices it may even encourage more people to travel outside India.
similar with Philippine order 9 A350 each carrying 380 people to North America.

The A350-1000 has been selected under the Philippine carrier’s Ultra Long Haul Fleet project and will fly on non-stop services from Manila to North America, including to the East Coast of the US and Canada. The new aircraft will join two A350-900s already in service at the airline.

PAL’s A350-1000 fleet will be able to accommodate 380 passengers in a three class layout, with separate cabins for Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.
