The best way is ignoring NATO's bureaucracy. That organisation has no real power and mostly functions as US mouthpiece. I am sick of EU officials like UVDL and NATO officials like Stoltenberg styling themselves as presidents. They are not. They are managers. Especially Stoltenberg is a glorified liaison personnel.
What US doing here is trying to lock European populace into a position by opening a NATO office in Japan as if NATO has any say over member countries. It has none. It is political engineering project that shouldn't be fed by drawing attention to it.
