This is what it all comes boil to and also why it's hard for West to come to terms with anything other than their rules and customs their logic is simple if your ways were superior you would be the one to be prosperous so stop being so poor swallow the pride and join our way of life and it makes sense if things really happened the way current european belief of western achivement is that it's was a natural progression from Ancient Greek to Current world order but in reality West became prominent after Colonization which was thanks to Industrialization
Industrialization is what Changed the game but why no one else didn't pull it off in hindsight it seems almost intuitive but truth is pre industrial economy and social structure wouldn't allow for it to happen you need a massive demad for mass manufactured products for that, a large middle class with spending power, let's say you made a cloth mill in 12th century europe who will buy it? Lord's have access to superior handcrafted products peasants don't have enough money to buy your products but things changed after plague in Europe lots of peasants died those few left were in huge demad allowing for the first time in human history for peasants to demand wages from their land lords and World's first middle class with expendable income was born in a way a genuine trickle-down economy forced by nature brought this change this was why rest of the world couldn't muster a proper defence most societies were pre industrial and guess which country did the same changes to it's society without being forced by a pandemic and had similar growth and even managed to defeat a European power later
Japan underwent many changes after the Meiji Restoration. The feudal system and all feudal class privileges were abolished
Thankfully China's current leadership is bound to enact a trickle down economy by virtue of their ideology and hopefully would be open to Universal basic income in the future and not susceptible to state hijacking by Capitalist Elites while the West is busy undoing what brought them prosperity in the first place due to their hubris and arrogance by bringing back new age feudalism (Except maybe Nordic countries, for now) with slogans like you'll own nothing and you'll be happy while their populace is busy twerking on Tiktok.
