The bigger issue for US is that tied their national fate to a warlord with very dubious ability to say the least, one that's located almost right inside China.

I think later generations will see US claims over Taiwan as exceedingly stupid geopolitics.

In effect, what they're doing is like unzipping their trousers, putting their balls in their enemy's hands and then saying "come fight me".

So while because US has invested such extreme political capital in this, China may not instantly get a satisfying mass slaying out of American provocateurs, but now, if America does literally anything except successfully invade Taiwan and either annex or put it under puppet rule, America will have lost the cold war.

That's just terrible odds for them.

A hegemon bully is gonna bully.

Just remember what's making the US do what it does, is because of insecurity and fear of China (whether it's from the balloon incident, to China's growing military power).
Well while the USA is still trying this salami slicing tactic against China, this time China is stronger than it has ever been and has yet to show what China is truly capable of on the battlefield. All these actions by the USA is made out of desperation because they know they have more or less lost in Ukraine and they honestly believe they could recuperate their loses in a conflict against China when they are far from resolving the matter against Russia which taking their eye of them is a recipe for disaster. Also, with all these disasters against chemical plants in the USA like Ohio, Florida and Texas, we shouldn’t rule out the prospects that someone in the USA wants the nation to fall (independent of external powers) and once they damages really start of accumulate, the USA might end up destroying itself well before engaging China in a fight. I mean they are trying to bury the problem in Ohio which is poisoning the area for generations to come and Biden is busy in Kiev Doing God knows what. There is only so much fooling around they can do in the USA before the people really get fed up. A civil war there is starting to look more and more likely the more these events occur and we are only just near the end of February.

I'm still surprised for how long Alexander christiforou can create a daily clowns world section in his walk around videos...
Well he is a decent news bringer, unlike many in the mainstream right now. Not sure how he can maintain the positivity though but I do admire that though.

No. Labeling taking an action as a sign of insecurity and desperation and labeling inaction as confidence only comforts you.

Exactly. Knowing the West, the appeal likely went along the lines of

"Don't you dare to supply weapons to Russia."

"Okay, so what will you offer in return?"

"Don't you dare to supply weapons to Russia."

"You said that already. But what are you offering?"

"Nothing. Don't you dare to supply weapons to Russia."

"Don't you Nancy Pelosi dare to visit Taiwan without our permission."

"Okay, we landed in Taiwan so what will you do in return?"

"Nothing. Don't you dare to visit Taiwan."

China says "Don't you dare to supply weapons to Taiwan." "Don't you dare to deploy troops in Taiwan."

So what will China do? So far, China has done nothing but bitching.
