If the other Americans don't accept them as one of the group, then that's their internal dispute. America will be weaker for it, if they reject some of their own brightest and most educated blood and flesh.
If someone wants to flee to China from political persecution, they would be welcome, as long as they're actually loyal and not opportunists.
