Another reality, today you can freely fly between Taipei and Beijing. In fact, hotels and tourist area shopkeepers on the island wish there were more flights. Although interesting thought recently by Ayi / Xi Yazhou is this may be a pretty good idea for LUCAS style drone swarms. LUCAS cost $35,000 USD each, and Musk is asking for an increase of monthly fee for the Starlink subscription for them from $5000 a month to $25,000 a month. Clearly if that's carried out then the Starlink subscription would make up a large amount of the cost for LUCAS.
So an idea for cost saving would be instead of having every LUCAS be Starlink equipped. You build say 80% of them having no Starlink and 20% of them do. Then you launch a swarm at a time of bunch of dumb LUCAS lead by a Starlink equipped swarm leader which then farms out its connection to its swarm mates by basically fancy wifi mesh.
Also you know, crack down on LCS crew taking advantage of LUCAS Starlink for accessing OnlyFans when the LUCAS are stored. That might be the reason why Musk is raise the subscription fee so much.
