Thailand was "neutral" in WW2 until it was briefly invaded by Imperial Japan in 1941. Then it capitulated and became an ally of Japan. Due to that alliance, Thailand provided the staging ground for the Japanese to invade British Malaya from the north. So technically, Thailand was part of the Axis powers in WW2 albeit a minor member.
And the dictator of the time was anti China despite being Chinese himself.
Suffice it to say, this year has not exactly been India's year in terms of geopolitics and that's putting it in kinder words than other people here or Chinese social media would.
