Anything can be a benefit. It’s not a benefit to China to help a hostile to China at every opportunity to which the EU chooses to be. That’s why the EU wanted to decouple in the first place because they saw any Chinese involvement with their countries as a threat to their national security. It’s only a manipulation to make China believe helping the EU is to its benefit. It’s only a benefit to the US to help their ally to be strong. The EU doesn’t want to pay the price for helping them hence why the spin that it’s to China’s benefit. Gotta make China believe helping the EU is more important to China. No, it’s that important to and in turn dire that the EU needs to resort to get their self-described enemy’s help. The goal of decoupling is the same as making China think it needs the EU more than the other way around so the EU can then dictate terms. It’s the beggars who can’t be choosers.
The irony is following the US’s China policy has openly revealed how weak and exposed they are for those that do. Blinken just spun in an interview how the US got like-minded countries to gang up against China, aka countries that were already treaty allies to the US, all together… And all of them are economically in the shits because of it. And all of them are begging for or angry that they’re not getting China’s help. Meanwhile China’s technology is rising and more independent than ever… opposite of the intended goal of decoupling.
