I love how this humanity graduate stooge talks like college is free. He wants Chinese parents to pay a lot of money for a useless degree in gender studies or maybe that's the plan of the Humanities Graduates Stooge Council, to fill China with expensive scam degrees, the same thing American universities have been filling in the United States to drain the money from gullible parents whose children are not adequately taught math and science in school or put those student in perpetual debt.
Imagine a Chinese father paying a lot of money for his daughter only to see her return his pink hair full of gender tattoos with a title that no company in China will accept.
If it actually goes through it will instantly delete the attractiveness of US universities for all but idiot 富二代 and libs that actually believe in US humanities (lol), effectively killing off the majority of the Chinese full fee paying revenue stream.
In fact, I hope they do push this through. It will be to the US education system what the Russian sanctions were to the EU economy.
And hilariously, they will be getting Indian overseas students in their STEM courses. While some Indian students are highly talented, on a whole and on average they are not up to the level of Chinese students in either STEM aptitude or fortitude.
The another problem that college is not free and I have my doubts that they can afford to pay these tuition costs with the same commitment than Chinese do.

what remains to be confirmed now is if those are mostly chinese nationals of Korean ethnicity. And this is very much possible as it's not a secret many chinese Koreans go there to find work. It has been the case ever since SK and China established formal ties.

In Aus there a infamous incident few years ago when a billionaire philanthropist died and he left behind a huge estate billions which became embroiled in controversy after hs associates claimed it was meant for promotion of western civilization studies.
It does not explicitly steer Asian students to study western civilization but they did plan to build centres of study for western civilization in many universities here and promote it by offering scholarships and such. I guess that in conjuction with the banning of confucious institutes and forcing chinese students to study humanities is part of the overall plan to promote western values and influence, reduce chinese influence and scientific output
