This is actually not a new thing in Anglo western countries when they try to influence what asian students should learn.

In Aus there a infamous incident few years ago when a billionaire philanthropist died and he left behind a huge estate billions which became embroiled in controversy after hs associates claimed it was meant for promotion of western civilization studies.

It does not explicitly steer Asian students to study western civilization but they did plan to build centres of study for western civilization in many universities here and promote it by offering scholarships and such. I guess that in conjuction with the banning of confucious institutes and forcing chinese students to study humanities is part of the overall plan to promote western values and influence, reduce chinese influence and scientific output
The Five Eyes are trying to claim ownership over Western civilisation; it's why they dont care if europe gets nuked because they believe north america will be the seat of a new Roman Empire. What sort of 'civilisation' needs constant war and enemies just to stop themselves from fighting each other?

The only thing binding the current 'rules based order' is white privilige and western chauvinism - both of which are under threat by a rising China.

I wasn't sure on how David Goldman came to that conclusion? I thought re-entry of the lunar lander hit a stationary location, how does that translate to hitting a fast moving object from space?

I genuinely curious and I don't have this type of technical background.

I imagine it’s precision and targeting, that if China can work robots as far away as the moon to complete complex tasks, can you imagine what the Chinese FOBS will be like?

the western elites’ stupidity and racism hasn’t gone unnoticed by the CPC

i can imagine how Chinese leaders would have felt decades ago when they were students in America or staffers at western conventions, and Having to endure the shameless white supremacy of western nations and their feckless politicians.

More than the US fears a Russia/North Korean alliance...? Yes ignore the white elephant in room. The US also claims that China fears Western punishment if they help Russia in Ukraine so that's why they haven't helped Russia directly as much as the West is for Ukraine.. If that's true, why would China want to stop North Korea from doing it? Afterall the West says stopping Russia also means stopping China. Also they say if the West and Ukraine lose this war, China becomes the number one superpower in the world. So why would China want to stop a Russia/North Korean alliance?

Why wouldn't the US want this Russian/North Korean alliance to happen? What I've read from their propaganda is North Korean artillery ammunition are so bad quality that they're exploding in Russian howitzers when fired. Isn't North Korea actually helping the West destroy Russian artillery? Maybe they'll spin it as North Korea is actually secretly helping the US because they want to be loved by Americans like the rest of the world does?
there is Arab interest in North Korea but its not easy figure out from the coverage of this Putin Visit from Arabic TV channels.
Putin does not deviate from Arabic system and it repeatedly proven in Ukraine case.
Gulf Arabs want US engaged in Mideast. so if US engaged in Mideast than it will need Europe fully occupied as supply chain and Aviation flights comes from North to sustain this engagement.
Indian and UAE met during G-7 but Indian FM still has to travel to UAE gain insight. this is that superior soft power.

I can understand US, Germany, France, UK, even Italy and Sweden playing with tariffs on foreign vehicles... but Canada is totally nonsensical as it doesn't have even a domestic company of it's own to protect. If anything, low priced foreign EV in Canada would be beneficial to domestic society and economy... but alas, vassals prefer to shoot themselves in the foot.

ChriSStiya Freeland needs to protect the Canadian investment in EV programs.

1. Honda: Zero EV platforms (only licensed one from GM), zero EVs produced, $15b incentives promised
2. Stellantis: 1 EV platform for sub compact/mini cars, considered not suitable for North American market. Zero EVs produced in Canada. Some additional platforms in development, probably will end up using Leapmotor IP. $15b promised
3. VWAG: VW group EVs on sale in Canada: Porsche Taycan/Audi e-Tron GT Twins, VW ID.4/Audi Q4 Twins, total 4 models, 2 platforms, all made in Germany. Canadian production: 0. Signed a deal with SAIC and also XPeng for technology. $13b promised.

Total cars available from chriSStiya's crew: 4
Total under $100,000: 2
Total under $60,000: 1

Meanwhile, imposing carbon taxes on common people to "fight climate change". The government set a deadline of 2035 to be 100% EVs. Roughly 10 years... 10 years and most of these companies don't even have much product in the pipeline (except VW), let alone construction of whole plants.

edit: Adding one more point.
chriSStiya says that the reason this tarriff inquiry is happening is because of "Chinese overproduction".
Consumer demand rises because of climate change and gas prices. Production rises because of demand. Prices fall due to economies of scale.

I just saw this on douyin regarding the news of the explosion of battery factory in SK. With many fatalities. It is said many of those were Chinese female nationals of Korean ethnicity.

I saw the huge number of comments and thought mostly should be about safety issues or condolences but actually top comments were about the pay. Said to be 50RMB per hr. Most were saying that's really high and envious. Some even hoping to go SK. I do wonder how much the factory workers in China gets paid compared to neighbouring countries.

I guess it just hits hard that even though China has developed alot in these decades, theres still some way to go. Many of us are proud of China rise but we also need to be realistic. There are still sections of population and areas in China that are behind. We have to not go overboard in our expectations.

I believe that is a little less than double a comparable position (factory worker) in China.
That being said, it is a given that you have to pay a premium to attract foreign workers, so that is not out of the ordinary. Plus the cost of living is higher in SK vs. China. I don't think this really says much about the living standards in general.
Not to say your point is incorrect, but I don't think that this particular incident is too indicative of anything.

FYI. They wanted a 16% tax levy on bread, 25% tax levy on cooking oil, increased taxes on financial transaction, 16% tax levy for specialized hospitals with a minimum of 50 beds. Plus others. Sounds like a failed state to me.
