Those people will be so anti-China that even war is a probable option for them. They could probably even openly support Taiwan independence just to show their anti-China nature.

Not necessary, the others Hawks Republicans are even more unhinge and dangerous than Trump, all the unhinge china policies that you saw under Trump except for the tariffs was done or pushed by the others Chicken-Hawk Republicans like Marcos and Cotton. The export controls, that attack on Huawei, the Ms Meng issue, the China initiative and the list go on. The main issue of Trump was the trade imbalance, that its, he even try to negotiate Huawei with Xi. Beyond that Trump like Biden was never in power, the others Republicans where the ones crafting policies while he was playing gulf.
If the US had their way, China is suppose to sanction and isolate from itself. This is a maneuver the US is employing not just on enemy countries but on allies too. The US wants China to follow their sanctions not to just choke off the country in question but to damage diplomatic relations for China getting the targeted country angry for China going along. With allies the US wants them to commit to actions that will anger China so that China cuts them off and then the ally has no other choice but to do what the US wants them to do. The US doesn't like it when allies are iffy on China because they don't want to lose a customer when the US wants them to act against China. The US thinks it has the right to dictate another country's foreign policy all so they don't suffer the consequences alone.

One benefit of all this if we approach this matter from the angle of how this benefits China is that this will all but ensure that in the long run, up until November and beyond that a civil war scenario is that much more likely to happen.
